The coffee illusion #Mondaymotivation

The coffee illusion

I fully admit I have a problem sitting still. This weekend wasn’t any different. Date night on Friday and staying up until 11:30pm, because as my husband said “we are adults for one night”. A Saturday full of class work and then a night out with the girls at the Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean concert. Sunday was a time for the whole family to reunite, but still included some yard work and even more school work. My life is amazing and I feel totally blessed to do all of the things I do, but Monday morning always sneaks up on me and without coffee I’m not sure what I would do.

What keeps you going?

P.S. The coffee in the pic is called a Painter’s Mocha and even though I’m not usually a fan of sweet drinks this one is amazing. Black Sheep cafe in South St. Paul is one of our favorite places to get well crafted espresso drinks!

Team USA and Nike have me pumped for the week

Last night Team USA won the World Cup for the first time in 16 years – go ladies! I still remember watching the team win in 1999 as we all sat on the edge of our seats (hard to believe it has been that long ago and that it has been that long since my first year of high school).

Team USA did it with class, grace, and true grit. I hope that I can teach my daughter to be just as strong and confident as the women who took the field last night and walked off champions.

Nike did a great job highlighting the strength of women and if this doesn’t get you motivated for the week ahead, I’m not sure what will. #MotivationMonday

We have to lose ourselves

It has been nearly two weeks since I was on here, but for good reason. We have been traveling and spending family time together while I’ve been mulling over revamping this site.

So one thing that I’m reworking is the motivation Mondays. Olivia is beginning to really remember things we say to her and I have so much advice and so many words of wisdom (my own and from others) that I want to share with her that once a week doesn’t seem like enough . . . but it is a start. I want her to know about the power of travel, how to treat herself and others in a caring way, that good food is a must, and that even as one person she can change the world.

If there are any favorite quotes or words of wisdom you would like to share please let me know.

Lose ourselves

Motivation Monday: We are all travelers

TravelersI hope you have found several honest and true friends to travel this world with. I am thankful I got to spend a long weekend with three of those people in my life. If you have them keep them close and let them know how much they mean to you. If you haven’t found them yet, never stop looking and opening yourself up to new friendships.
